Xu Huajiang, vice party secretary and mayor of Cixi conducted research in Zhouxiang so as to obtain more information about urbanization and new countryside construction. Xu said that Cixi should grasp the opportunity of comprehensive development so as to implement the plan for urbanization and new countryside construction in the coming three years. At the same time, local government should speed up industrial transformation and urbanization so as to push forward the development of economy and society in Zhouxiang.
Xu inspected the northern extension of Liangzhou highway, 3-A reformation areas along 329th National Highway and extention of Third Hospital. Meanwhile, Xu also visited people who were still in their positions during summer vacation. Xu expressed that he would study and try to sovle present problems and demanded that local governments had to take their goals in their mind and exerted their utmost to complete projects in plan.
After listening to the report on economic and social development and future plan in the coming three years, Xu gave a high praise to the achievement Zhouxiang had made in the past few years. Xu said that Zhouxiang had maintained steady and rapid development due to the early plan, solid implementation. With the clear plan and formation of development pattern, local government should take the opportunity and win development of faster pace and better quality.
Xu emphasized that the key to the transformation of Zhouxiang from a town to a city lied in its own orientation. The local government should break the limit and implement the three-year plan so as to enhance the comprehensive urban and suburban development with urbanization as an emphasis. The local government also should take their advantages and seek unique development manner and perfect planning. The local government should also upgrade urban function and accelerate the infrastructure construction. They should perfect supporting services such as transportation, culture, education and health care. They should introduce some exemplifying and powerful projects so as to enhance the construction of the city. Finally, the local government should seek more growth poles on the basis of its own advantages and upgrade their management level and enhance the healthy development of the city.
Xu demanded that local government should enhance industrial transformation and upgrading when talking about the job to do. Local government should be clear about its orientation and layout of its industrial development. Meanwhile, they should cultivate new industries and make greater efforts to introduce foreign investment and encourage present capital put into new industries. While getting rid of backward industries, they should put emphasis on energy-saving and decreasing energy cost and realize scientific and reasonable usage of electricity. What’s more, they should pay attention to environment and enhance integral development of urban and suburban area. At last, they should enhance the integral development of Yuyao and Cixi and ensure that all the relevant projects be finished as scheduled. Officials from such department as reform and development, agriculture, planning, finance, transportation and health care took part in the research with Xu.
