During the bidding for the graphene nanoplatelets project prioritized in the National Industry Strengthening Initiative 2017, Ningbo Morsh Technology Co., Ltd., an enterprise based in the Coastal Economic Development Zone, Cixi, distinguished itself from another 11 competitors and finally signed the contract with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to carry out the national-level project.
It is reported that the project, placing great emphasis on the large-scale application of graphene nanoplatelets in supercapacitors and lithium-ion batteries, will accelerate the mass production of electronic graphene nanoplatelets and achieve stable operation of a production installation with an annual capacity of 300 tons of electronic graphene nanoplatelets by the end of 2018.
“Electronic graphene nanoplatelets are mainly used in supercapacitors and lithium-ion batteries, while industrial graphene nanoplatelets in anticorrosive coatings and modified plastics.” Liu Zhaoping, CEO and chief scientist of Morsh Tech said. Compared with industrial ones, electronic graphene nanoplatelets are more advanced and require strict control over ionic impurities. The national-level project primarily aims to establish and stably operate a production installation of electronic graphene nanoplatelets with an annual capacity of 300 tons. Morsh Tech’s success means that the enterprise’s commitment gets strong backup as revealed in the national strategy and more importantly, it occupies a leading position in the industry with proprietary IPR, outstanding performance in graphene nanoplatelets application and a foundation to enter into mass production.
