On October 16, the “Catching Fire” Second International Symposium on Shanglin Lake Yue Kiln Olive-green Porcelain& China “Yue Kiln Cup” Awarding Ceremony of Traditional Celadon Creative Design Competition was held in the Shanglin Lake Celadon Cultural Inheritance Park. Jiang Zaiguo, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Cixi Municipal Committee and Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Cixi Municipal Committee, attended the activity and announced the opening of the symposium.
The masters gathered together, bringing a wide range of outstanding pieces of work.Since it’s launched, the Second “Yue Kiln Cup” Awarding Ceremony of Traditional Celadon Creative Design Competition has received pieces of work adding up to 225. Upon expert review, 18 pieces of work won Gold Awards, 33 Silver Awards, 39 Best Creativity Awards, 1 Judge-favored Special Award, 1 Special Award of “Polite Cixi” and 1 Cultural Inheritance Award.The winning pieces of workhave been included in the works exhibition of the Second China “Yue Kiln Cup”Traditional Celadon Creative Design Competition, and will continue to be displayed in the Shanglin Lake Celadon Cultural Inheritance Park until December 6 this year.
The cultural and industrial development of olive-green porcelain is inseparable from the participation of more platforms, institutions and talents.This time, the Shanglin Lake Celadon Cultural Inheritance Park has signed strategic cooperation agreements with theZhejiang Arts and Craftsmagazine, the School of Design and Art, College of Science and Technology, Ningbo Univeristy, and the Shanghai BaokuCulture, so as to carry out more cooperation in academic publication, exhibition of pieces of work, university-enterprise manufacturing, education and research cooperation and so on.
On that day, the guests also had a forum and discussion with themes of “aesthetic value of Yue Kiln celadon” and “exploration of the times of Yue Kiln celadon”.Focusing on the themes of aesthetic appreciation, cultural value, technical innovation, cultural inheritance and industrial development of the Yue Kiln celadon, the guests carried out active and enthusiastic discussions and exchanges, jointly discussing the construction of a benign and diversified celadon ecology, studying the contemporary innovation of local culture, and actively exploring more possibilities of ceramic art.
The activity is co-organized by the Zhejiang Ceramic Industry Association and the Cixi Culture, Radio, Tourism and Sports Bureau. Nearly 100 experts and scholars, arts and crafts masters, ceramic artists and enterprise representatives from colleges and universities and ceramic industrial institutions at home and abroad attended the activity.
