Singing and dancing to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. On October 23 and October 24, a “Party-themed Centenary Praise” Ningbo Original Music and Dance Competition for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China was held in the Cixi Grand Theatre. Wonderful music and dance performanceslit up the MingyueLake.

The competition originates from the triennial Ningbo Music and Dance Festival. It aims to better prosper the music and dance creation among the people in Ningbo, explore and accumulate outstandingcultural and artistic pieces of work, cultivate high-quality creative talents, select excellent performance teams, and promote gradual transformation of artistic creation from a quantitative change to a qualitative one. A total of 13 pieces of original music and 14 original dances from all over Ningbo participated in the competition. The pieces of work are full of a distinctive sense of the times and strong artistic appeal, and most of them are close to reality and life. Realistic themes such as the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese Dream, rural revitalization and the reform of matters that do require presence in person should be processed all in one visit, and so on have become artists’creation inspiration.

Two pieces of music and 2 dances from Cixi participated in the competition. The lyrical and charmingsong of A Centenary Dreamdepicts 4 major nodes in the history after the founding of the Communist Party of China; the vocal duet of See the Sun, See You has a magnificent and shocking style. The dance of Flowers, Please Grow Up Soon expresses good wishes of the flowers of the motherland to thrive and is full of childlike fun; the pas de deux of “Porcelain” & Youin Lifeis created based on the couple of Yue Kiln workers of the Shanglin Lake. The actors and actresses dance on the props in the shape of celadon vessels, which is quite eye-catching.
