Yesterday morning, the activity of cherishing the memory of revolutionary martyrs was carried out in the Kuangyan Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery by the Party Research Office of the CPC Municipal Committee, the Bureau of Veteran Cadres of the CPC Municipal Committee, the Municipal Committee for the Wellbeing of the Youth, the New Fourth Army History (Old Revolutionary Base Development Promotion) Research Association, and the Kuangyan Town.

With the national anthem broadcasted, the whole staff laid wreaths to revolutionary martyrs and then stood in silent tribute in face of the solemn monument of martyrs. This year, we welcome the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Anti-Japanese base area behind the enemy lines in Sanbei. Party members, cadres and representatives of veteran comrades are having this activity here to cherish the memory of revolutionary martyrs and inherit their will; review the history of the Party and keep their faith firmly in mind.

Bluish green cypress, like torches, stand behind the monument of the martyrs. They are just like the fire of revolution. A representative of the Municipal New Fourth Army History (Old Revolutionary Base Development Promotion) Research Association said that as early as in 1926, Cixi established the local organization of the Party to lead workers and peasants to carry out revolutionary movement. During the Anti-Japanese War, Cixi was an important part of the Anti-Japanese base areas in East Zhejiang, one of the 19 Anti-Japanese base areas in China. In this heroic land, there are 700 revolutionary martyrs with names and surnames and many revolutionary martyrs without names.

In the new journey, Party members and cadres should inherit the red gene, carry forward the revolutionary tradition, forge ahead bravely along red footprints of our predecessors, achieve actual results in learning the history of the Party, understanding ideas and thoughts, doing practical things and opening up new situations, strive to create new brilliance in speeding up the construction of a modern regional central city of Cixi, and comfort heroes with new achievements.
