“Look, there are scarves and woolen sweaters. We would never feel cold this winter.” On January 6, in the sanitation station in the Zhouxiang Town, Shi Xiuzhi, a sanitation worker who had just put on a big red scarf around her neck, was extremely happy. On that day, volunteers of the Yafei Public Welfare Fund with the China Charity Federation and the Yafei Volunteer Service Team, paid visits to many sanitation stations in Cixi to present caring winter gifts for over a thousand sanitation workers.
At 8:30 a.m., several cars loaded with caring gift bags drove into the sanitation station of the Zonghan Subdistrict. The volunteers moved the caring gift bags off the cars one by one, including woolen sweaters, scarves, masks, drugs, hand sanitizer, as well as high-quality agricultural products such as tremella, red dates, black rice and yellow millet produced in Daliangshan, Sichuan. Soon, these gifts were delivered to sanitation workers there. When a gift bag was handed to Zhang Xianlin, an environmental sanitation worker, he said excitedly that he had been an environmental sanitation worker in Cixi for 15 years and had received a lot of caring services from government departments and caring people. This time, the public welfare organization sent them so many practical items, “there are not only clothes, but also food and protective articles. It’s really thoughtful.” On the same day, like Mr. Zhang, more than 300 sanitation workers in the sanitation station received the same heart-warming items.
In a sanitation station in the Zhouxiang Town, as cars with caring gift bags drove in, many sanitation workers waiting there gathered around with smiles. Taking the caring gift bag and putting on a red scarf, everyone’s face was filled with a happy smile. This time, all the 345 sanitation workers with the Zhouxiang Town Sanitation Station and the Jiancheng District Sanitation Station received these caring gifts.
As is learnt, on January 6 and January 7, volunteers of the Yafei Public Welfare Fund with the China Charity Federation and the Yafei Volunteer Service Team paid visits to sanitation stations in Zonghan, Zhouxiang, Qiaotou, Fuhai and Changhe and so on, presenting 1,104 sanitation workers with these caring winter gifts, which has brought them warmth in the cold winter.
