Since Zhejiang comprehensively promoted the digital reform, the benefits brought by digitization have affected all aspects of people’s production and life. At this year’s annual sessions of the NPC and the CPPCC National Committee (Two Sessions), “digitization” and “intellectualization” have also become high-frequency words mentioned by representative deputies.

During the Two Sessions, it suddenly occurred to me that since “digitization” can be applied in so many places, has “digitization” been used for the Two Sessions? Maybe the first reaction of many people would be: it’s just a meeting. how can “digitization” be applied? But I tell you that the Two Sessions have really applied “digitization” on more than one aspect.

In the Cixi Grand Theatre, when I entered for the opening ceremony of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, I heard a brief music prompt. Everyone will make a sound when they enter the venue. At that time, I thought it might be similar to check-in, but I was surprised that I didn’t see any equipment such as cameras. The second time I entered the venue, I found a machine next to me. When I passed by, I not only made a sound, but also have my photo and name displayed on the screen. The machine read the number of people entering the venue in real time, but won’t read that of the working staff. After I asked the staff, I learnt that this machine has been used for digital application. It is called the remote check-in system, which has the intelligent check-in function. It is associated with our attendance card. After sensing the information of the attendance cards, it will be automatically read out. The equipment was just put into use last year, which has the advantages of convenience, quickness and efficiency.

The second digital application is the ballot box. The appearance of this ballot box is the same as that of an ordinary one, but the interior is quite different. It integrates automation and electronic vote counting system. For each vote, the real-time number of votes will be displayed on the side display screen, which makes the ballot open, transparent and efficient.
