Recently, the first regional trade union federation in the city of Cixi was founded in Zonghan Subdistrict to better safeguard the rights and interests of employees, to provide effective reference for grass-roots construction of trade unions in the city, and to boost overall rural revitalization.

“Facing the problem of ‘flattening’ in management, we should first do a good job in team formation.” Luo Jianyu, the person in charge of the federation of trade unions in the subdistrict, said. In order to solve the problems of lacking in working staff and large number of enterprises in the construction of subdistrict trade unions, the subdistrict has strengthened the construction of trade union positions, and established trade union federations in 3 demonstration areas focusing on industry-village integration, comprehensive social management, culture and tourism industry, covering 3,138 employees with 347 enterprises. The members of the subdistrict federation of trade unions shall serve as the chairman of the regional trade union and the chairmen of the village (community) joint trade unions shall serve as the vice chairmen, and a quarterly rotation system shall be implemented. Starting from the needs of employees, the federation will assist in carrying out rental housing projects, combing reconstruction projects of main roads in the area, road landscape renovation and improvement projects, sightseeing agriculture projects, etc., so as to promote high-quality economic development in the area.

Zonghan will do a good job in resource integration, strengthen the construction of employee service stations, cooperate with relevant departments to provide services such as making it easy for people to report information, or raise suggestions, complaints, or requests, introducing job vacancies, relieving difficulties, coordinating labor relations and providing legal aid, and to set up an opinion solicitation box at the gate of each enterprise to respond to employees’ suggestions, complaints, or requests through letters and phone calls with dealing results, safeguard the rights and interests of employees, and strive to create a warm “family” for the majority of employees.

“Doing a good job in skill training is an indispensable and important link in the development of the area.” The person in charge said. The subdistrict regularly organizes and carries out “Ankang Cup” competition activities and employee skills and technical training programs to enhance employees’ safety awareness and self-protection ability. At the same time, relying on the cultural auditorium, Zonghan has set up a “cultural home for migrant workers”, establishing a cultural and sports team for employees to carry out regular cultural and sports activities to enrich the spiritual life of employees.
