Recently, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism announced the sixth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage representative projects, and two projects in our city, namely, brushed jade carving and Yue kiln secret color porcelain firing techniques, were selected.

Brushed jade carving is a form of jade carving with wire drawing as the main process, which is different from hollow jade carving. It uses wire cutting to grind various patterns back and forth along the pattern with the help of the steel wire passing through the positioning hole. Ningbo boasts a history of wearing, storing and carving jade. Most of the brushed jade carvings are made into jade flower pieces, which are generally used for folk jewelry. In the last century, many small jade carving factories and workshops were set up in the Cixi area, innovating tools and inheriting techniques. At present, Cixi has become the main inheritance place of this very technique.

ST color porcelain has a long history and is an excellent representative of China's ceramic industry. Its origin is located in the Shanglin Lake, Cixi. ST color porcelain has a unique making technique. The selection of porcelain clay, the preparation of porcelain glaze, the shaping of casting, and the decorative techniques are all exquisite and meticulous. After a thousand year of no making, Cixi celadon craftsmen have been committed to restoring the making of ST color porcelain, and passed on and carried forward the ST color porcelain culture by means of mentoring, training lectures, publishing books and holding exhibitions, and academic researches and so on, so as to add luster to the "capital of ST color porcelain and an intelligent manufacturing city of Cixi".

Up till now, Cixi has announced 8 batches of 104 representative intangible cultural heritage projects. Among them, there are 2 national projects, 12 provincial-level and above ones and 33 municipal-level and above ones.
