Recently, in one morning, the grate furnace project (phase III) of the municipal waste incineration power plant was officially started, marking a milestone in the construction of waste terminal treatment facilities in our city.

It is reported that since the municipal waste incineration power plant was put into operation, it has operated smoothly and realized the green turn from fluidized bed to grate furnace. Over the past 13 years of operation, the treatment capacity has been steadily improved, with a cumulative disposal of 7.491 million tons of garbage, 5.328 million tons of heat supply, and 1.37 billion kwh of power supply, having effectively helped the city to achieve the improvement of three aspects of garbage harmless treatment, environmental stability discharge, and electric energy conversion.

In order to further improve the municipal waste treatment capacity, the municipal comprehensive administration and law enforcement bureau took the initiative to put the construction of grate furnace project (phase III) on the agenda. "The project is a key construction project of the city in 2022, and has been listed in the list of key construction projects of Ningbo and the '4+1' major construction projects in the Zhejiang Province." A person in charge of relevant departments of the municipal comprehensive administration and law enforcement bureau told reporters. Since the beginning of this year, the bureau has strengthened overall planning and scheduling, accelerated the preliminary design, made sure that the construction site meets the conditions of water, electricity, roads and site leveling before the formal construction, and environmental impact assessment approval, and effectively promoted the quality, speed and efficiency of the project construction. Phase III project covers an additional area of 65.28 mu, with an investment of 930 million yuan. It will be equipped with two mechanical grate incinerators with a daily treatment capacity of 750 tons, two medium-temperature sub-high-pressure waste heat boilers, and one 40MW extraction condensing steam turbine generator unit.

"For the next step, our bureau will further pay close attention to the construction of key projects, keep an eye on them, and promote the 'stability' and 'progress' of urban management with the' quality 'and' efficiency 'of project construction." A person in charge of relevant departments of the municipal comprehensive administration and law enforcement bureau said that they would strive to build and put into operation No. 8 incinerator by the end of December 2023, and increase the daily treatment capacity of domestic waste in our city to 3,000 tons.
