The Qiaotou Town has been promoting the construction of a rural area for the demonstration of application of digital yuan in the Zhejiang Province, improving the coverage of basic financial services in rural areas. In June last year, after the construction of the digital currency application demonstration zone was launched in the town, a total of 160 digital yuan payment scenarios have been built, and 20,900 digital yuan personal wallets have been opened, with a coverage rate of over 93.78% of the applicable population. In order to actively expand the application of digital yuan in various scenarios, the Qiaotou Town level finance has taken the lead in pilot projects. By distributing some public subsidies such as compulsory military service subsidies in the form of digital yuan, it has achieved full coverage of 9 budget units in the town to open public wallets and distribute employee salaries in digital yuan. As of now, a total of 398 digital corporate wallets have been opened and subsidies of over 10,000 yuan have been issued.
Only by allowing the mass public to experience the convenience and efficiency of digital yuan in daily use can it be promoted and popularized. Therefore, the Qiaotou Town vigorously promotes the application of digital yuan in rural scenarios from points to areas. On one hand, the town has hired 9 digital yuan promotion ambassadors and 55 grid members to jointly promote. On the other hand, the town actively utilized the "group governance" mini program platform, launching digital yuan consumption coupon issuance activities throughout the town both online and offline. Currently, over 5,000 people have opened digital yuan wallets through this platform.
The Qiaotou Town has further refined and optimized the promotion of digital yuan, continuously innovating the digital yuan benefiting farmers' scenarios, and collaborating with the Qiaotou Branch of Cixi Rural Commercial Bank to expand the application of digital yuan related application scenarios and construction of relevant commercial districts, accelerating the promotion and application of digital yuan collection and payment in farm food markets and supply and marketing cooperatives. In addition, relying on the digital yuan consumption coupon issuance activity, agricultural and sales assistance have been carried out, and this year we have helped the provincial-level disabled poverty alleviation demonstration base sell more than 12,000 kilograms of watermelons.
