Recently, the pilot construction of an elderly cognitive impairment-friendly community in the Zhejiang Province was launched in the Longxing Village, Baisha Road Subdistrict. As the first unit in our city to apply for the pilot construction of Zhejiang Province's elderly cognitive impairment-friendly community, the Longxing Village will actively explore the "government led + professional support + social participation" model with the support of the Baishalu Subdistrict and relevant departments, further integrate medical, elderly care, and community resources, and create a cognitive impairment service system that integrates prevention screening, rehabilitation support, and family care, making "Elderly Health Care" of better quality.

According to epidemiological surveys, about 6% to 15.5% of the elderly population aged 60 and above have varying degrees of cognitive impairment. If these patients can be screened and intervened during the mild functional impairment stage, it will greatly delay the progression of the disease. "At present, with the acceleration of aging and the increasing demand for prevention and treatment of cognitive disorders, we hope to further enhance villagers' correct understanding of cognitive disorders, and improve their awareness of screening and prevention of cognitive disorders," said Xu Dongsheng, Secretary of the CPC Longxing Village Committee.

Previously, the village focused on creating a cognitive impairment-friendly environment through multi-dimensional and multi-channel promotion, as well as rich and colorful cognitive impairment care activities. Especially since August last year, the village has cooperated with the Baishalu Subdistrict Elderly Care Service Center to jointly build the "Happy Memories of Homes" service platform, relying on specialized venues and professional equipment to conduct cognitive impairment risk screening for the elderly throughout the village, and establish health records to provide them with cognitive training, family support, non-pharmacological intervention and other services.
