On May 12, the basement structure of the Cixi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital’s expansion project was fully topped out, marking the project's transition to the critical phase of above-ground main structure construction. From an aerial view, the roof slab of the newly built medical complex (ward) basement has been fully enclosed, seamlessly connecting with the basement roof slabs of the new medical complex (clinical technology) and the preventive treatment complex. The topped-out underground space covers over 20,000 square meters across two floors, primarily housing parking areas, pump rooms, and other facilities. Upon completion, the project will provide 343 underground parking spaces, significantly alleviating the hospital's parking challenges. As a flagship livelihood project of the city, the expansion is part of Zhejiang Province’s "Thousand Projects, Trillion Investment" initiative. The expansion project will span 48,700 square meters (including 14,700 newly acquired), with a total investment of 570 million yuan and 600 beds. Since its commencement in June 2024, the project faced complexities in underground construction due to challenging site conditions, adjacent to the old hospital (north), a river (east), and residential areas (west), with dense underground pipelines. The Cixi Investment Group collaborated with the project team to conduct multiple field surveys and discussions, developing reliable pit retention plans. Through continuous adjustments, robust support structures were implemented to ensure steady progress.
