"In the past, we had to travel long distances to take our children to activities, but now there’s a Children’s Station right at our doorstep. It’s really convenient!" said Ms. Li, who was accompanying her child to a parent-child reading activity at the Fulonghu Community Children’s Station in the Longshan Town. As one of the first children-friendly communities in Ningbo, this station offers carefully-designed activities such as early education, handicrafts, and reading sessions tailored to children of different age groups, allowing them to enjoy professional and high-quality services at the door step.

Stepping out of their homes, families can reach a well-equipped and activity-rich Children’s Station within 10 minutes, a scene that has become part of daily life for more and more households in our city. Since the beginning of this year, the Municipal Women’s Federation has vigorously promoted the construction of "At-Your-Doorstep Children's Stations", optimizing and upgrading 22 standardized stations based on the original 67 women and children stations. These stations are uniformly equipped with "5+X" functional modules, providing five core services: education and training, rights protection, family empowerment, public welfare care, and children’s services. Additionally, tailored projects are implemented according to the characteristics of each village and community, truly achieving "zero-distance" children’s services.

Each Children’s Station adheres to local conditions to create unique service models. The Jinyang Community Station in the Zonghan Subdistrict innovatively established the "Little Masters of Jinyang" program, encouraging children to participate in community governance. The Oak Bay Community Station in the Kandun Subdistrict fully leverages the resources of its "sunken urban study" to create a distinctive reading space. Meanwhile, the Pengqiao Village Station in the Henghe Town integrates local intangible cultural heritage to offer unique cultural courses for the children of new residents.

A number of distinctive brand projects have taken root in these Children’s Stations. Municipal-level brands such as "Ci Jia You Fang" and "Xi Shang You Ai" have incubated 16 specialized sub-projects across various stations. This year, some stations collaborated with the court to innovatively establish "Visitation Rights Exercise Spaces". Through warm environmental design and professional guidance, these spaces make parent-child visits in divorced families more natural and harmonious, an initiative that has received unanimous praise from residents.

To date, the Municipal Women’s Federation has delivered over 70 sessions of services to these stations, covering areas such as family parenting care, family education, parent-child reading, and children-friendly activities. These efforts have served more than 3,100 households and benefited over 9,300 individuals. In terms of team building, the Federation has conducted professional training for over 100 personnel, continuously enhancing the service capabilities of station staff.

"Children’s Stations effectively address the childcare challenges faced by dual-income families. We aim to provide strong support for children’s healthy growth through professional services," said a relevant official from the Municipal Women’s Federation. The next step will involve continuous promotion of this livelihood project, with plans to establish a regularized, standardized, and branded public service system for children by 2027. This will enable more children to enjoy high-quality services at their doorstep, laying a solid foundation for building a children-friendly city.
